Math Apps

Mathematics is a tough and confusing subject for most students. Don’t worry, you are not alone. There are literally millions if not billions of people who struggle with math. But that is the beauty of it. It is complicated yet exciting.

We all love math and would want to be better at it, right? Even if you are not so great at math, we can help you become great. It is not very hard. Like everything else, math requires proper coaching.

And what better way to get coached than having an app on your smartphone. Sure lots of apps are useful, but not many help you learn. With this list you can do math in your spare time, while waiting at the doctors or at the subway – it’s as simple as that.

These are the top five math apps you should have in your phone.

Math App

Brainly

Brainly is a social networking app designed at connecting students and sharing problems – educational problems that is, this is not Facebook or Reddit, if you want to know. You can download the app and connect with other students to see what might be the problems you and others are facing. You can share your math problems, seek advice and get them solved. Also, you can forge some serious friendships as well. Networking with fellow likeminded people is always healthy and can never hurt.

Also it doesn’t matter what type of student you are, you can be a student of any discipline. Brainly is not restricted to math only. Also, there are different levels. At the time of account creation, you tell the app what is your level of education, what grade you are in, and the app forms your community around that information.

HiPER

HiPER is an amazing calculator. It has a free and a paid version, the free version is good enough for most students at grade school and college level but the premium version makes it insane. The free version does calculations up to 10 regular digits and three exponential digits. The premium version however, makes it 100 regular and nine exponential! Crazy stuff.

You can use HiPER both as a student and as a teacher. It can be really helpful when you are checking work or an exam and want to quickly find answers.

Khan Academy

It is likely that you have already heard of Khan Academy. It is one of the best tutorial sites in the world. And now they have an app as well. They are very focused on teaching math. There are more than 10,000 videos and more than 40,000 problems and questions on math alone!

But that still not the best thing about this app. The best part is, that the app is completely free for all users.

LectureNotes

LectureNotes is simply a not taking app – but it is way more useful than you think. It is probably the most popular note taking apps out there, it is extremely useful as it lets you record audio and video of your teacher for later listening.

Needless to say that it is not just another recording app, it is optimized for students. As a math student, you can greatly benefit from it.

Photomath

Photomath is a free app that does wonder at solving problem. It is a camera based problem solving app. You take a snapshot of a math problem and the app provides the step by step solution. It is an easy as they come.

When you think about it, Photomath saves you a lot of time. If you get stuck all you have to do is hover your camera on your book and boom you have a solution display on your smartphone in no time.
